Junior Miners Fun Fest 2026 Invites Mining Students Through Interactive Experience

JAKARTA – The first mining education exhibition for children, Junior Miners Fun Fest (JMFF) 2026 initiated by MIND ID, is again being held in Jakarta. The exhibition will be held at Lippo Mall Kemang from 2 to 5 July 2026, inviting children 3-15 years to understand the world of mining through various interactive and enjoyable activities. The exhibition is cost free and open to the public.

With the concept of playing while studying, the Junior Miners FunFest presented unique experience for children to understand the mining industry and how this sector is contributing to daily lives. This year would be the second time this exhibition is held, after successfully drawing more than 2,000 children and their parents in 2025 at the Gandaria City Mall, Jakarta.

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Pria Utama, said that MIND ID and all Group Members from ANTAM, Bukit Asam, Freeport Indonesia, INALUM, TIMAH, to Vale Indonesia, continue their commitment in presenting enjoyable and meaningful learning experience for children who are the future generation.

“Junior Miners Fun Fest is an actual contribution of MIND ID in presenting interesting and easy to understand education for the young generation, specifically in recognizing the mining sector in their earliest years,” he said.

Pria explained that all experience presented are designed in such a way as to develop the rough and soft motoric ability of children, while at the same time creating a more comprehensive understanding on the mining sector through enjoyable approach.

Various educational games have been prepared to provide interactive and enjoyable learning experience. An example is the Mining Zone, in which children are able to feel the sensation of exploration mining areas, while at the same time, training their courage, balance as well as rough motoric ability. This play area is designed to support the imagination of exploring the underground mining area operated by ANTAM for gold mining and Freeport Indonesia for copper mining.

At the Excavator Real Simulator, children can directly feel the experience of operating heavy equipment to excavate and move material. This activity is exciting, while at the same time, train coordination, focusing on the agility of children, as well as introducing activities of open pit mining implemented by TIMAH in their tin mining activities. This play area also has a Mini Excavator, in which children can become a heavy equipment operator in a small and safe scale.

Furthermore, there is the Gold Rush zone play area in which children can imagine becoming an operator of a hydroelectric power plant, currently one of the main energy sources of mineral processing for INALUM in producing aluminium, and Vale Indonesia in producing nickel.

For a more interactive experience, the Mining Simulator Game presents a static bicycle game with visualizations of activities in the mining area. The children are invited to actively ride the bicycle while watching the logistic operational process of Bukit Asam’s coal train, whiich runs throughout the year without stopping.

While at the Laser Tunnel, the children would have to go through a laser barrier as a simulation of the mining product distribution, train the agility, concentration as well as ability to trouble shoot through enjoyable means, showing the difficulty of mining extraction process, requiring extra caution.

Mining Builder is a creative exploration area, in which children can compile and build using Lego blocks. This activity helps to develop imagination, the ability to think structurally, as well as the soft motoric skills, while also showing the strategic mineral downstream to support the ecosystem of the electric vehicle battery industry.

Pria emphasizes that JMFF is an enjoyable family education area during the vacation period while at the same time introduce the mining sector more closely to the young generation.

Through this direct experience, it is expected that children can have a better understanding of the world of mining and its contricution to national development.

“This is a concrete step of the MIND ID Group to form a golden generation who are more capable of appreciating natural resources, while at the same time, support the sustainable development of Indonesia’s mining industry in future,” concluded Pria.
