MIND ID Safari Ramadan Series Provides Assistance for Children Suffering From Cancer

Children suffering from cancer are celebrating Ramadan differently. In the midst of long term medication process, they still show spirit and hope which strengthen their families and the people around them.

As part of the Safari Ramadan 1447 H program series, MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, the Holding State-Owned Enterprise for the Mining Industry, channels assistance to the children at the Lilin Pelita Kasih shelter, now housing more than 85 cancer patients and families from various regions in Indonesia.

The assistance provided consisted of nutritional supplements, food packages, as well as cleaning supplies and compensation which can help their daily needs during medication process. The event was also attended by MIND ID people who interacted directly with these children and their accompanying families through various children education activities, team building, bead stringing and story telling.

Moreover, the children and the foundation also received knowledge from MIND ID people concerning daily items resulting from mining processing.

MIND ID Corporate Secretary, Pria Utama, conveyed that Ramadan becomes the momentum to expand concern, especially to the vulnerable groups requiring sustainable support.

“In this month full of meaning, we wish to ensure that our presence is truly felt. These children are not only struggling to get better, they are also teaching us about persistance and hope. We hope that this simple assistance can lighten the burden of their families,” he said.

Pria explained that these cancer stricken children need support, not only medical, but also psychological and social support so that they still retain their spirit in taking their medication treatment.

Through Safari Ramadan, the company is ensuring that social assistance can reach those groups that need it most. The program is consistently directed to the vulnerable communities, including children with critical illness.

The presence of employees in these activities is part of the efforts to provide direct moral support, while at the same time strengthening empathy and solidarity.

Furthermore, Pria stressed that the social commitment is an irrevocable part of MIND ID’s role as national strategic holding industry. He believes that the presence of the company is not only measured by its economic contribution, but also the social impact felt by the people, specially the vulnerable groups.
